The Navan global office footprint will grow by one this April when the company opens its newest location in Salt Lake City. It will be the 15th office started by the core Navan team and the seventh in the U.S. following Palo Alto, San Francisco, Dallas, Austin, Seattle and New York.

The Utah capital city is quickly becoming a premier hub for business and technical innovation, which makes it an ideal location as Navan expands its team and leadership in the travel, corporate card, and expense management industries.

The Navan Salt Lake City team will begin hiring for sales and customer success roles, and is expected to hire at least 40 new members in the coming months. Navan currently has 2,200+ employees in 64 (wholly owned and partner) offices serving 8,000 clients in 94 countries—with plans to continue to grow and scale this year.

Leading the new office opening is Matt Mogle, Director of Global Launch on the Customer Success team, and current resident of SLC.

Matt joined Navan in March of 2019 as an Enterprise Customer Success Manager and has been on the front lines of the company’s success throughout the last three years. He values the meritocratic culture that Navan embodies and has received three promotions within the last 15 months, moving from a Senior CSM to manager to a director role building out a global customer success team.

On what led Matt to Navan…

“I’m originally from Alabama, where I wanted to get into tech, so I started in a sales role there before getting my first job in San Francisco. Ten months later, our team at that company was shut down by our parent operation. I took that development as an opportunity to think through what I really wanted to do next. I always had a passion for travel—my mom was a flight attendant and my dad was in the hotel industry—but I never thought I could combine my personal passion for the travel industry while professionally staying in tech.

I felt connected to the Navan vision from the start and truly believe that it has the potential to become a world-renowned household name. This business is something that can touch every country on Earth and to join a company with that type of reach is unbelievably exciting and challenging. I feel blessed and proud to be a part of our growth.”

On what excites Matt most about the future of Navan…

“I love the recent acquisitions we’ve had in EMEA—three in eight months—which is outstanding.

We are experiencing record high travel bookings today and, companywide, we are taking the travel, corporate card, and expense management industry to the next level.”

(Navan acquired Swedish corporate travel agency Resia, German travel management company Comtravo, and UK-based travel and event service Reed & Mackay between May 2021 and February 2022. The company also launched a new partnership with Lufthansa Group and expanded Navan Expense, its fintech-powered corporate card and expense management solution, across the UK and Eurozone.)

On his favorite part of living in SLC…

“I moved with my wife from the Bay Area to SLC during the pandemic. There are so many great activities the area provides: incredible skiing, national parks, kayaking, mountain biking, and more. It is a playground for those who love the outdoors. There are professional sports teams to watch and an international airport, making it easy for domestic and international travel. Overall, I think SLC has a great energy to it. Now is the right time to open a Navan office in SLC.

If you want career progression and to take on new challenges, this is the spot for you!”
