Today marks International Women’s Day: A celebration of women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements and a global call to #BreakTheBias for a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. Navan recognizes the gravity of today and National Women’s History Month throughout all of March. Our team is working to make its own small corner of the world a place where women and people from all backgrounds, genders, nationalities, and identities can thrive and find success by showing up as their full selves.
We recently highlighted our unique approach to diversity, equality, and inclusion led by Shaka Senghor and why we believe that cultivating diversity is key to building incredible products and a flourishing business. We also introduced the Belong DEI Council in 2022 to ensure we continue to challenge the status quo and support our Employee Resource Groups.
In honor of National Women’s History Month, we’ll be profiling two of our ERGs: Who Run the World, whose mission is to support and encourage women at Navan to advance their skills and leadership potential through connection, mentorship, collaboration and discussion, and Women in Sales and CS, which is creating a space where women in these roles can be seen and heard as well as collaborate, educate, and inspire one another to continue making a positive impact in the workplace and community.
Navan not only uplifts women leaders among our own ranks but actively looks for opportunities to engage with and support women in our community. Throughout the past six weeks, we’ve profiled three Black female entrepreneurs who are building groundbreaking businesses as part of the ‘Future Leaders’ campaign sponsored by Navan Expense. Each woman told Navan their story, which was captured in a blog post, as well as joined Navan Head of DEI Shaka Senghor for an Instagram Live. You can learn about each woman here and vote until Friday, March 11, for one fortunate leader who will win $5,000 to spend with a Navan Expense card.
Navan was built on the belief that in-person connections are what drive relationships forward, but those connections are only meaningful when every individual feels free and empowered to be themselves. Join us in celebrating and supporting women around the world today on International Women’s Day and every day.
