Sales sets up a client meeting. Marketing organizes a team offsite. Everyone figures out flights and hotels. And finance wants to understand what it all costs.

Navan’s enhanced Slack app helps people handle the travel and expense tasks behind those moments. Employees can book a trip with a direct message, while reviewers can approve transactions, and finance and travel teams can explore spend, right in Slack.

It’s all part of Navan Anywhere, which brings Navan’s travel and expense capabilities into the tools employees already use.

Here’s what’s new.

From a Slack conversation to a booked trip

Navan’s AI agent in Slack lets travelers book, change, or cancel business trips, ask questions about T&E policies, and get help from a live human agent when they need it.

Slack travel booking

Traveling to Omaha for a client meeting or Osaka for a site inspection? Just start a direct message with the Navan agent and describe the trip you need. As with the Navan app, Navan’s agent brings the company’s policy, traveler’s preferences, past behaviors, and rewards into Slack to show the most relevant options in real time. Adding the trip’s reason and any required custom fields gives the company what it needs for reporting and review.

And to help them navigate their journey, travelers receive notifications like flight status updates, schedule changes, approvals for trips, and expense receipt reminders.

Making changes to an existing trip is just as easy — simply ask the agent to change or cancel it. And because sometimes we just want to talk to a human, Navan’s Slack integration makes it easy to connect with expert human agents, complete with full context, without leaving Slack.

Ask questions, understand your spend

Slack admin insights

When finance asks what’s driving travel spend, teams can start investigating directly in Slack. They can look up transaction details or explore bookings and spend by department, destination, or supplier.

All they have to do is ask something like, “Which destinations accounted for the most travel spend last quarter?” They can then use the breakdown to understand where spend is concentrated and what deserves a closer look.

Keep expenses and approvals moving

Slack approval flow

Managing expenses in Slack? No problem.

Now, employees can submit or edit expenses and expense reports, while reviewers can review transactions, approve or reject them, or request more information. When a transaction needs a closer look, reviewers can open it in Navan. The end result: a more connected experience across the trip — all without leaving Slack.
