Navan expands local-currency issuing to help global T&E work locally

Your Canadian team spends in Canadian dollars. So why is its card statement in U.S. dollars?
Here’s the problem: When cards are billed in a different currency from local spending, everyday purchases can come with conversion fees. Adding a separate local card provider can solve the mismatch, but that gives finance another program to manage.
That’s why Navan has recently expanded our local-currency card capabilities in Australia, Canada, Sweden, Denmark, and Poland. Navan now supports 15 issuing currencies across the globe, giving eligible companies more ways to manage spending locally while keeping global travel, payment, and expense data connected. And more currencies and markets are on the horizon.
It’s the newest development in our ongoing effort to help make global T&E programs work more locally.
Keep local spending in local currency
Navan’s expanded local-currency capabilities help address these challenges at the source. With support for Australian dollars (AUD), Canadian dollars (CAD), Swedish kronor (SEK), Danish kroner (DKK), and Polish zlotys (PLN), eligible companies can offer locally relevant payment options that help reduce avoidable currency conversions and cross-border workarounds.
And because card transactions remain connected to travel, policy, expense, and accounting data, finance teams can bring more entities into their existing T&E program, and don’t have to sacrifice global oversight for local flexibility.
One connected experience, from booking to close
The payment is just one part of the trip. Travelers need relevant booking options and reliable support when plans change. Employees need straightforward ways to pay and submit expenses. Finance teams need consistent policy controls, spending visibility, and accounting data across entities.
Navan connects these experiences in one platform, from booking and traveler support through payment, expense, and reconciliation. Rather than stitching together separate regional systems, companies can manage a connected program adapted to local operating needs, with capabilities varying by country and configuration.
That localization extends beyond payments. Navan also supports locally relevant expense workflows, including per diem, mileage, and reimbursements, as well as e-invoicing workflows in markets such as France and Germany. Together, these capabilities help companies address regional requirements without fragmenting their global T&E operations.
Global scale, local flexibility
As Navan expands its local-currency footprint, multinational companies have more opportunities to bring entities and employees into one connected program. The goal isn’t simply more country coverage — it’s making global travel and expense management work better at the local level.
