In honor of International Women’s Day, we’re excited to take a moment to pause, recognize this global holiday, and reflect on the women around us. After all, women play an uncontested role in our organizations, homes, and society.
International Women’s Day was conceived to celebrate women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements and as a global call for a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. This year focuses on the theme of #EmbraceEquity.
Navan is committed to uplifting women throughout our organization, embracing equity through company values and involvement with nonprofit and community impact causes.
As March is Women’s History Month in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia, we’re profiling innovative women throughout the organization. Check back later this week for a spotlight on Nina Herold, EVP and GM of Navan Travel, who manages Navan’s business and personal travel businesses, leading product, design, user research, and operations teams. Before her role as EVP and GM of Navan Travel, Nina was Navan’s Chief Product Officer.
Women Inside Navan
While women’s rights have come so far in the last century, it’s important to note that hardships still disproportionately affect women inside the workplace.
At Navan, leaders take the diversity, equity, and inclusion program seriously. Cultivating diversity is key to building incredible products, a flourishing business, and a more just world.
Under Navan’s DEI leader, Gabrielle Quezada, two fantastic employee resource groups (ERGs) have been created where women can connect, support, and cheer one another on. Navan ERGs are voluntary employee-led groups that support and unite diverse communities to cultivate a greater sense of awareness and belonging throughout the company.
WhoRunTheWorld was conceived to encourage women to advance their skills and leadership potential through connection, mentorship, collaboration, and discussion. And Women in Sales and CS was created to provide a space where women in these roles can be seen and heard and collaborate, educate, and inspire one another.
To celebrate International Women’s Day, these two groups are co-hosting special “Sweeten Your Day” donut bars in nine global Navan offices this week. They’re also sending thank you notes to every woman at Navan.
Navan was built on the belief that in-person connections drive relationships forward, but those connections are only meaningful when every individual feels free and empowered to be themselves. Join us in celebrating and supporting women worldwide today on International Women’s Day, throughout Women’s History Month, and every day beyond.
