Inspira—a brand relationship agency focused on building lasting connections between brands and consumers through an integrated approach—and its partner agency, Enthuse—an education-led marketing firm that teaches the world to love your brand—together employ more than 400 people across the U.S. Before adopting Navan, the agencies lacked a formal travel solution. Bookings were spread across consumer sites, with no visibility into budgets or reporting.

We spoke with K'Tory Cobb, an accountant overseeing expense management, and Angelica Valencia, a finance coordinator, about how Navan transformed the way the company’s teams book, manage, and track travel.

Before Navan

Without a centralized travel platform, employees booked flights and hotels through various consumer websites using corporate credit cards. As a result, finance and accounting had no visibility into where people were traveling, how much they were spending, or how trips aligned to budgets. Gathering information for reporting required significant manual effort and constant follow-up. “It was tough to maintain and handle,” said Cobb. “We just didn’t have clear visibility into travel budgets or reporting.”

“With Navan, we now have the control to set different policies so we can stay within budget, as well as a real-time data feed into our system,” said Cobb.

In the past 12 months, Inspira and Enthuse realized  a 21% savings on its travel program, thanks to spend policies that keep employees within their allocated budgets. The finance team has used the opportunity to reallocate funds to other priorities. “Before Navan, employees were just swiping away with no real oversight,” said Cobb. “Now, we’re seeing great savings and can use those dollars elsewhere.” 

Navan also makes it easy to track travel for specific events. “When there’s an event, I can find all the trips for that event in one place, so it’s easy to see where expenses are allocated,” said Valencia.

Inspira and Enthuse also take advantage of Navan Rewards — a program that incentivizes employees who make cost-conscious bookings on eligible business hotels.

“We appreciate having Navan Rewards, because we’re pushing our employees to book through Navan, and they quite literally get rewarded for it,” said Cobb. Team members can redeem these rewards for their own personal travel booked through Navan.

Looking Ahead

As Inspira and Enthuse scale, Cobb expects the partnership with Navan to grow even stronger. “The more programs and clients we take on, the more we’ll rely on Navan’s reporting capabilities to keep everything organized,” he said.
