Hotels near DeVos Place for some downtime between sessions

Steps from DeVos Place via enclosed skywalk, this is the anchor property for Grand Rapids conventions: 656 rooms, full-service spa, and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse without stepping outside. As exclusive caterer to the convention center, the hotel handles event logistics that other properties cannot touch.

For the week-long convention where dining out every night stops making sense, full kitchens with stovetops and refrigerators let you control the schedule. Complimentary breakfast each morning cuts one decision from your day, and the indoor pool handles the post-exhibit-hall wind-down.

Recovery between convention days starts with the steam room and spa, then scales up to deep soaking tubs in every room. Connected to DeVos Place through the same skywalk corridor as the Amway Grand Plaza, so you trade zero weather exposure for four-star service and 333 rooms of quiet.

Drop your bags and walk to the convention floor in under four minutes via the downtown skywalk. The communal living room doubles as an informal meeting spot between sessions, and 1,507 square feet of on-site conference space handles breakout groups without leaving the building.

Free parking downtown is the exception in Grand Rapids, and this is it: self-park included plus a complimentary area shuttle covering two miles in any direction. Burger Theory on the ground floor keeps the evening simple after a long exhibit day, and the hot tub earns its keep during Michigan winters.

A European-designed retreat where the AC Lounge replaces the typical hotel bar with curated cocktails and a quieter register for after-hours client conversations. Skywalk access to Van Andel Arena and DeVos Place means the commute is climate-controlled regardless of season, and rainfall showerheads close out the day properly.

When your schedule runs wall-to-wall, the skywalk from lobby to convention floor removes the one variable you cannot control: Michigan weather. The 10,000-square-foot event space handles overflow meetings, the tennis court offers a rare active reset, and pillowtop beds salvage short sleep windows between sessions.

The highest-rated hotel on this list earns it with full kitchens, complimentary breakfast, and the kind of space that makes a four-day convention feel less like endurance. Wahlburgers downstairs handles the nights you skip cooking, and the 55-inch screens work for both prep decks and decompression.

Mornings start with a cooked-to-order breakfast; evenings end with a complimentary reception where the networking happens without a conference badge. All 250 suites include kitchenettes and separate living areas, so your room functions as both workspace and recovery space across multi-day events.
